Wonderful shots Adam...well done...
I put several hundred hours including aerobatics, formation flights and contour flying on this:
http://www.spitcrazy.com/harvard.htmI even flew a couple of competitions in one...
The North American Harvard and the DeHavilland of Canada DHC-3 Otter used the same type of aircraft engine...
Both aircraft were underpowered but so were many others.
There was a large supply of Pratt and Whitney Canada R1340 engines available and I think that is why they were used.
Nothing like the sound of an Otter's Pratt and Whitney R1340 starting up at 05:30AM while sitting on a glassy water lake....
...the fish will jump out of the water to hear it
...the ducks, geese and loons will give you a fly-by
...the odd moose, dear and bear will watch from the waters
edge with envy
...any campers will pull the covers over their pointy little
heads
...but the old Stoneboat Swamper will be beaming with
pride
Just imagine the sound of ten, twenty or more of these Harvards all starting up at the same time during the British Commonwealth Air Training Program here in Canada...
Thanks for posting the shots Adam and see if you can get a ride in it...you will love it...
