...wonderful pieces of kit that you suddenly realise that you should have purchased years ago!

After recently suffering a SATA Hard Drive failure, opening my Tower Computer and spending hours removing and replacing the faulty drive, and testing others, to try and correct the fault!

It was becoming a real pain in the rear end, constantly switching the 'Puter off, unplugging it, un-pluging the SATA and IDE and power ribbon cables, fiddling about inside, and then reversing the whole procedure!

Then I came across this magic device, which enables me to keep my 'Puter closed, and plug the device into my front USB socket, then just by plugging my 2.5/3.5 SATA, and 2.5/3.5 IDE drives into the magic device, powered by an external power supply, (with on/off switch), I can now access all the Date on the various HDDs, and transfer it to and from my Computer without any internal fiddling about!

With a dozen or more various Hard drives surrounding me, it is just a matter of plugging/unplugging them into the external Magic Device to read all the data they contain!

It will appear on the desktop as an additional Device (drive).

And what is this Magic Device, I hear you say?... Wink...!

...this!...>>>  http://www.usbnow.co.uk/p52/USB_2.0_IDE_&_SATA_Cable_%28with_Power_Supply%29/pro...

..and all for the measly price of £15!... Kiss...!

Hard Drive Frustration suddenly ended... Grin...!

Suitable for both Tower/Desktop and Laptop Computers

An excellent purchase for all those wishing to save/transfer data between a Computer/Laptop and various external Hard Drives, quickly and easily!

(I should have got it years ago!)

Paul....Hard Times with Hard Drives are now at an end!... Grin...!

I have had one of those for quite a while now. It is a great was to make  internal hard drives external without the expense of a conversion box for each one.

"Of Old Dogs And New Tricks?"

Glad to hear you got the new Magic Device Thingie.

Now you can establish a robust backup protocol and store you BU drives away in a nice, safe, firebox.  It is what I do.

Luck,

THE BAD UNKIE HAS SPOKEN!

.... Smiley...!

My previous problem was never having sufficient space on a 650MB CD ROM to store all my important data.
With my new, Magic Thingie, I can format one of my many spare Hard Drives, and regularly? copy my important data from my "C" Drive, etc, into one of my my (now) external Hard Drives without needing to delve into the innards of my computer to swap ribbon cables and drives!
Isn't modern technology wonderful!... Grin...!
I used to be stuck between a rock and a hard drive....not any more!... Wink...!

Thanks Paul. I've been after one of these gizmos at a reasonable price for a while now. I ordered one from your link yesterday morning & it arrived today. Marvellous service. Cool

I've tried it on a couple of ancient IDE drives & I'm delighted with it. Smiley

Well done, Doug!

As you say; an excellent service. You even get e-mailed to let you know that the product has been dispatched, First Class Post!

A wonderfully useful device for all sorts of Hard Drive usage!

I'm as pleased as punch with mine, as well!
