As I spend a lot of time near, or on the ground, with my little GA aeroplanes, I'm always on the look-out for some nice grass textures... Kiss....

So...If you are disappointed with the default, smooth, blurry, ground texture in FS 2004, its time to give this a try...>>>

Some rather nice grass!

http://www.avsimrus.com/f/fs2004-effects-and-addons-46/grass-texture-38239.html?...

...

Its obviously not 3D, but it does look quite good at ground level, and gives a nice, more realistic, "grainy" texture from the air!

In your FS 2004 Scenery/World/Texture Folder, create another Folder named; "Original detail1".
Look for the file; "detail1" and copy it into the new Folder for safe keeping.
Replace the original default; "default1" file with the new; "detail1" file, overwriting it.
Fire up FS 2004 and you are away, and prepare to wade through the grass with your Piper Cub's wheels... Wink.... Wink...!

If you don't like the new detail1 texture, just replace it with your saved detail1 texture again.

Paul...time to fire up my trusty Petrol Lawn Mower again!... Smiley...!

As always, don't forget to back-up the original; "detail1" file first!

P.S..and for the ultimate experience, add Gerrish Gray's wonderful tree set...2.3 MB...(For FS 2002 but also works in FS 2004)...>>

Excellent, Zaph!

I've tried out a few grass textures for FS 2002/FS 2004 over the years, and this one seems to be the best of the bunch so far..(until someone comes up with a better one!... Grin...).
Its certainly better than the default ground/grass texture... Smiley...!

The other problem?... Embarrassed...
Bald spots?... Shocked....>>>
