The afterburner on the F-20 won't show, even when I have the afterburner button hit on my throttle. Anyone know what to do about it?

It works fine for me. The AB cuts in at about 75% throttle.

Ok...

But that still doesn't help me. Is it linked to a light somewhere?

It works automatically without pressing any buttons or switches.

I assume you have the FSX native version of this aircraft & not the updated FS9 model? http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=iris_f20_fsx&x=14&y=8

I got the one from their site, which I believe is the FSX native one...

Same one as in my shot. The file name is iris_classics_f20_fsx.exe

I don't know what to suggest. As I said in my first reply, it worked fine for me straight "out of the box".

I know that it is supposed to be FSX acceleration not just sp2...

Just for kicks, I got the gauges and effects files from my dad's install (he has acceleration {I didn't take any planes or any of the carrier applicable stuff}) (he technically owns my copy of FSX too).
It didn't work (though the hud works now).
There must be some kind of specific afterburner setting exclusive to the expansion's executable...

May want to go back and make certain that all of the associated a/b files are where they need to be such as in the effects folder. Maybe try a re-install. I have this plane (bought it a while back) and never had these issues either.

Fsx sp2 + accel here

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

You need Accel. for the Afterburner to work.

The afterburner should be coded into the model for the IRIS F-20, so there shouldn't be any effect files. There may be a requirement for acceleration to use afterburners that are part of the model, though, because I know the default F/A-18 uses this method.

Ah, that would explain it. Sorry Icy.
