Well “as promised” guys, here are some action edits for you. The first image is a recreation of the sinking of Japan’s largest battleship during WWII, the Yamato. Inasmuch as I couldn’t find a photograph of the Yamato from the viewpoint I had in mind, I used a picture of the KM Bismarck which I then modified to resemble the Japanese warship. The TBM in the image is payware from MAAM’s inventory and the Hellcats are SimV “freeware” DLs. Cutouts of the above were then assembled and blended into the photographic BG shown. All the special effects were then created in Photoshop. The TBM shown was the AC that was accredited with delivering the first of some 13 torpedoes into the ship’s hull, however it was the combined effort of both the TBMs and Navy Hellcats repeatedly scoring 1000 lb bomb hits onto the ship’s deck that ultimately sunk the big ship. The 2d image is my rendition of the destruction of the bridge over the river Kwai. I used an actual photograph of the Kwai Bridge as it exist today (copy attached) to create this image. Obviously I had to turn back the clock by getting rid of the tourists and war memorial to create a suitable BG. This in fact was the original bridge crossing the Kwai. Due to its strategic significance in shortening the Japanese supply route into Burma by some 500 miles, the RAF bombed the bridge dropping two spans. The Japanese never attempted to repair the bridge, but built a wooden tressel bridge several hundred meters upstream using POW labor, which was the basis for the movie, “The Bridge over the River Kwai”. In reality, the new wooded bridge was also bombed by the RAF, but repaired as often as it was damaged remaining in service throughout the war. Enjoy the images. Your comments are always appreciated……… Ziggy  ...  ...  ...

You are the undisputed master, Ziggy. All I can say is: WOW!!!  Shocked  Do you do anything with these edits? I mean, other than show them off here. These things are frameable art. Seems to me like they should be reproduced in a large format and be hanging in some aviation museums or other reputable establishments.

Hi mate, the short answer to your question is no. This is strictly a hobby for me and I derive my pleasure from friends like you that take the time to tell me they are enjoyed. Thank you so much for your sterling comments........ Ziggy

INCREDIBLE Shocked Shocked

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Great edits Ziggy. Wink

Although the Bridge was actually over the River Mae Klong not the River Kwai. Wink

Well, mine is hardly a reputable establishment, but would you mind if I printed a few of your works out myself in small format and hung them on my wall? You've got your signature in the corner, and I could tell people that I've got a genuine reproduction of a Ziggy original. Smiley  They sure are fun to look at.

Better than that mate, give me your e-mail address and I'll be happy to send you anything that interests you in HD. The originals all have a native resolution of 1920x1200 and weigh about 1 MB in JPEG format............ Ziggy

Whilst they are both stunning pieces of art, if I were forced to choose I'd have to say the first piece is my favorite. Well done sir Wink

Thanks Mike & Futurepilot, I do appreciate your most gracious comments. Although the editing that went into pic #1 is obvious, it actually took more time to create pic#2 due to the extensive editing required to modify its background (BG). Keep the aircraft in the air and 1942 looks pretty much like 2012, but by bringing the earth's surface into view, it's rare indeed to find a suitable BG that's appropriate to use "as is". On occasion I have spent more time modifying a given BG than I have spent creating the rest of the composite. Thanks again guys................. Ziggy
