May 17th, 2012 at 1:07pmI downloaded the AI DC-10's (http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=AI&x=0&y=0) second one from top.  I haven't done much with AI aircraft and flight plans to date.  Could someone tell me where to put the content of these files:

Aircraft_AI_HD_DC-10
Airports_AI_HD_DC-10
FlightPlans_AI_HD_DC-10

I looked over the readme instructions and could find where to drop the info into.  After searching over my FSX files for the last 45 minutes I figure I better ask the experts.

Thank You.

The readme file is pretty sparse...   Wink

Those 3 text files are not needed by FSX. They are just 'TTools source files'.

All FSX needs is the included  'Traffic_AI_HD_DC-10.bgl' file that you should place in the .....\FSX\Scenery\World\scenery\ folder.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

Thank you for the help!  Do you have this installed?  I am noticing a disapointing trend.  I have no more AI 737, Dash-8's, RJ's, A-321's, or GA aircraft.  They all seem to have been replaced all by DC-10's.  Ugh, not the intended result I wanted.  I've flown around to many airports across the US and every plane parked or flying is a DC-10........

Hi,

If this is actually an FS2004 flight plan, it will suppress all "real" FSX flight plans and they won't fly.

You can use AIFP to convert that plan to true FSX format so it won't suppress the rest.

Hope this helps,

Though I didn't install it, I did download it and checked the traffic*.bgl file.

The problem is that the Traffic*.bgl file was compiled in FS9 (FS2004) format. FSX will use traffic files in FS9 format but will then ignore all traffic files in FSX format. The solution is to convert the DC10 traffic file to FSX format.

There are a couple of programs that can do this for you:

AIFPC-http://aifs2.pvdveen.net/?p=145-can convert traffic file format.

AIFP2-http://stuff4fs.com/open.asp?Folder=AIFP&JS=TRUE-a full function ai flight planning tool for FS9/FSX.  Can convert traffic file format.

It took a lot of reading and a few youtube videos but I think I got it!  Thanks for both of your help.  AIFP is a pretty cool program.  After I got the hang of it, I have been creating AI flight plans left and right!

With this program can anything become a AI plane?

Well, not scenery.  Smiley

Anything that is AI or flyable can be turned into an AI aicraft.
