I noticed this past friday that my POSKY B757-200 aircraft on fsx started displaying this white square when I have my strobe and navigation lights on.  I took a picture of the problem i am having, but I have no Idea how to transfer this image onto here.

Ahah, everyone is bitchin' about the image istead of focusing on the problem! Grin

What you have there is a missing fx texture. Try reinstalling the plane. If it doesn't work, add the default strobe effect in the aicraft.cfg file:
[lights]
replace the name of the strobe effect in the strobe light line for "fx_strobeh.fx"
if the navigation lights are also faulty, replace them with fx_navgre (green port light), fx_navred (red starboard light), fx_navwhi (white tail light)

Up is the way to go.

What Xpand said. Then look for a screenshot utility so you don't have to go through the hassle of taking actual  pictures of the screen.  Wink

I don't have the plane but as Xpand said it's probably a missing fx Texture.

When you installed the plane did you copy the effects to the FSX Effects folder & the Effect Textures to The FSX Effects\Texture folder?

No Andy ,It doesn't comes with any FX at all , I think could be a missing FX that FSX uses to strobes or Nav lights

also any FX files is not a texture its a description of how certain thing will work

example oif you open any *. fx they will show you things like this

[Library Effect]
Lifetime=5
Version=2.00
Radius=-1
Priority=0

[Properties]

[Emitter.0]
Lifetime=0.00, 0.00
Delay=0.00, 0.00
Bounce=0.00
Light=1
No Interpolate=1
Rate=0.50, 0.50
X Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00
Y Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00
Z Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00
Drag=0.00, 0.00
X Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00
Y Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00
Z Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00
X Rotation=0.00, 0.00
Y Rotation=0.00, 0.00
Z Rotation=0.00, 0.00
X Offset=0.00, 0.00
Y Offset=0.05, 0.05
Z Offset=0.05, 0.05
Pitch=0.00, 0.00
Bank=0.00, 0.00
Heading=0.00, 0.00

its longer ,but see how it describe particles as smoke ,movemets ,lights etc  Smiley

What I mean by fx Texture is the texture that some fx files use.

For example "fx_alrot_smoke"

[ParticleAttributes.0]
Blend Mode=1
Texture=fx_1.bmp
Bounce=0.00
Color Start=50, 50, 50, 18
Color End=50, 50, 50, 0
Jitter Distance=0.00
Jitter Time=1.00
TempK=107.00
TempRate=0.01
uv1=0.50, 0.75
uv2=0.75, 1.00
X Scale Goal=4.00
Y Scale Goal=4.00
Z Scale Goal=4.00
Extrude Length=3.00
Extrude Pitch Max=0.00
Extrude Heading Max=0.00

Alrot,

Light .fx do use a texture. If used, the texture is called  under [particleattributes.x]. Most light fx call a texture from the 'fx_2.bmp' texture sheet.

Also your screen shots are missing the lights that Evan is having problems with.

I downloaded a smaller Posky 757-200W package (b752w_posky_aa_oneworld.zip). Checking the aircraft.cfg, the package was missing a couple Opensky* light fx, including the 2 giving Evan problems.

The missing fx  can be downloaded here http://www.projectopensky.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=520. There are no textures in the download as all the fx call the default fx_2.bmp.

Once I installed the Opensky* fx, the nav and strobe lights that are misbehaving for Evan appeared and worked fine on the ac I downloaded.

by the way, I just looked in the effects folder and noticed that somehow, the fx files were modified on 04/22/12.  I don't know how this could have happened, but maybe when I installed another aircraft requiring these files, I must have replaced the existing ones that were there without knowing it.  I mean, there is no way this problem could have happened by itself. Ahaha, no worries!  Wink Just kiddin'.

But yeah, you can either try to reinstall FSX or ask politely for someone to send you a copy of their fx_1.bmp file!  Grin
But have you tried the lights on the default aircraft to check if the problem persists?

Up is the way to go.

In fsx and windows, everything can happen.
The other day i deleted 120 (copy2) bmp's in txt folder, and i didn't install anything regarding to those bmp's!!

Of Course Gentlemen, I know that ,everything behind FSX are textures
What I mean to say Its that when and airplane comes with *.fx files,its really strange to find one *.fx along with its own texture,
at least I have never seen one yet to put in the Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Effects\texture folder yet

In the case of this Posky which I download it yesterday ,It did not comes with any *.fx neither fx textures ,which I put 5 pic above and as you cold see and I did not saw those squares than Ethan has

  Now I don't think its a missing *.fx from this 260mb package ,

If it is a missing Texture from the folder Effects\texture, Only by insert the DVD and then the option "fix"  the problem could be solved  Cool
