I decided to start a new series:Best of Freeware!
This series will show some of the best freeware tools, planes and scenery for FSX.

Todays freeware:The simshed Hawker Siddeley Nimrod!

This is an amazing freeware aircraft not to be missed by any military enthousiast.
The model includes several variaties and textures.
...

...
At first the crews, who were transferred to the Nimrod from the piston-engine Avro Shackletons, were not enthusiastic with the craft, mainly because its sensor suite was only marginally superior to the Shackleton's. In fact most sensors were the same, although the aircraft had a new digital data fusion computer. The Nimrod gave sterling service during the "Cod Wars" between Iceland and the UK over fishing rights. During the Falklands war (Operation Corporate), several Nimrods combed the sea for enemy submarines. The Nimrods took part in Operation Granby (the Gulf War 1990/1991), the NATO operations against Serbia in 1999, Operation Telic (the Iraq war in 2003 and beyond), the campaign in Afghanistan, and over Libya in 2011. They also were a routine component of British search and rescue (SAR) operations in the North Sea.(yes, this was copied of wikipedia... Grin)

...
The aircraft also contains an excelent vitrual cockpit with cargo bay etc and the 2d panel is also excelent.

...

...
A great extra is the parking configuration that is automaticaly aplied to the aircraft when the engines are shut down and parking brake is aplied.

My rating for this aircraft would be:
9/10
The reasons are:
Excelent model and textures.
Amazing VC.
Detailed.
Great extras.
BUT;it feels overpowered,I am not completely sure if it should be that way but otherwise the flying dynamics are great.

Next week: IRIS p40 kittyhawk!

PS:What do you guys think of this new weekly show?
PPS:I was using a new ENB bloom setting, what do you guys think?I think I should lower it just a tad...

Lol, it's funny that you chose to include an Ex-payware!  Won't that be a bit unfair?  Cheesy

Up is the way to go.

Are these all going to be True FSX freeware as in they were built with FSX SDK?

And not just FS9 conversions that will just grey out.

Well, these will mainly be FSX native aircraft but I have an aircraft in mind that is converted due to its extreme detail.

Cool idea, Jetprop Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
