I read a book some years ago about airline travel written from the perspective of a major airline captain. A very entertaining storyteller, Captain 'X' (as he calls himself) alleges that the very last words many pilots ever utter is ,"Oh S**t".
I found myself last night (and many other occasions) on a bad approach and subsequently stalled the aircraft resulting in a crash. Naturally, out of my mouth came the famous last words.
On a historical note, Captain Jacob van Zanten of the Tenerife disaster spoke these last words just before his 747 annihilated another on the runway. Interestingly enough his last words were in English, not his native Dutch.
So how many of you have a good "Oh S**t" story?

Drinking a few brews one afternoon..> Patty asked me to teach her how to change the oil in her car. So I lifted up the car and drained the oil. Then when the plug was back in the oilpan, I poured four litres of oil in and checked the dipstick. It showed too much oil.. I had drained the transmission fluid by mistake. Oh Sh...

I had one of those on the drive to todays training walk. The heavens opened and the car was being blown around. We got to the car park, the three of us exchanged one look and all made the statement simultaneously
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Carefully descending my stairs each morning, whilst calculating the forces of gravity involving a missed footing, is about as extreme as I get, during a successful landing on the ground floor...

No,literly.
at 100% you 'crash' even if you touch down extremely softly...
At least, this is the case on my PC.
And fozzer is a witness of my smooth landings on multiplayer.
(except the ocasional bouncing in a p51 and floating in a dc3 after wich I do touch down gentely...)

Do you promise to tell the truth, only the truth, and nothing but the truth? If so, can you verify this statement?
