Is it worth it, what's so much different from the default f18?
I know it shows different models but I can't really justify it as a purchase

While I don't have it, here of some of the differences that I know of from the default.
1. The default is a F-18C model, the Superbug is the F-18E Superhornet.
2. The systems of the F-18 in the Superbug package are as real as possible for flight sim, the default is highly simplifeid.
3. I believe the VRS aircraft also includes a weapons model allowing actual use of the weapons on the aircraft.
As to is it worth it, that would depend on you. I think it would be a cool aircraft, but I am reluctant to spend that much on an aircraft period. Especially since I know my flying style, I probably would only use it every once in a while.

IT. IS. SO. MUCH. DIFFERENT. THAN. THE. FSX. ONE. IT IS AWESOME!!!! You can fire weapons, lock-on to aircraft. every button is clickable. I can't explain the greatness of it, just Google it and watch some YouTube videos. It's up there with the NGX.

I hear what you guys are saying but I just don't know.
It's like just getting a HD texture for the default and a weapons add on. I Dunno, I am tempted.
As to the price issue, it's pretty cheap as I'm British and exchange rate is near to half.
I just don't want to spend money on something that looks great but when I actually get to fly the bug it won't be THAT much different

The VC is FAR better than the default F/A 18 from what I have seen & read.

You said its like an he texture? It's a different aircraft... It's like the default 737 then comparing it to the 737NGX.

It's a different model of aircraft. It's like buying a 747 cargo package I feel. You have the default and the cargo part isn't really gunna add much to the experience.
I think I'm gunna check out some YouTube videos and see if my mind changes

It's a completely different animal, the default F-18 and the Superbug aren't even in the same league. It's my first and favorite payware aircraft product (see my quote under my screen name).
For what it's worth, it's not just like having a different version (like cargo vs passenger). The systems are all modeled, it has working radar, working weapons (tacpack will allow physical damage and more), an entire configuration program for systems, fuel, and weapons etc...
For example, I forgot to configure my bleed air correctly one time and during climb out I received an avionics hot warning. I ended up having overheats and MFD's dropping off as I tried to get back to base. It's much much much more immersive than the default and flies as it should. The FDE on the default hornet is a joke in comparison (no offense to the developers).
If you're a modern military aircraft fan get it, you won't regret it.

After all the videos and after everyone's comments, this is by far the best thing I've seen to convincing me. I may just have to try it
Cheers guys
