The Ayers Trip

As i walked up the steps of air traffic control a guy said to me "seen your surprise yet?" with a big grin on his face. i wondered how many people were in on this surprise. "no" i replied, " where is it? or what is it rather?". he smiled wider and just beckoned me on up.

As i reached the top of the stairs, i caught a glimpse of pure Beauty.

No it wasnt a hooker or a sister.

but the reason i started flying in the first place

...

"oh my word!" i shouted "whos is that?!" i said excitedly just like the family had about ayers rock.

the old man chuckled and then dug his hands into his pocket "its yours till the end of the day my friend, your boss says thank you" i couldnt believe it. i raced down those stairs like a kid at christmas. i jumped in and smiled. all those hours reading old war manuals of how to fly this baby has paid off i thought. so i started her up as best i could and taxiied a little quicker than i ought to.

she growled like a tiger as we bounced down the runway

...

I couldnt believe it! my childhood dream has come true! at that very point so many things ran through my head. Fly away with her and never come back or try racing her with other stallions. but none of these could REALLY happen. so i settled down in the saddle for some sightseeing of my own

...

with the sun setting it just made the ride a million times more enjoyable

...

after flying steady, i decided to see what she could do and raised the throttle and threw her around

...

after some mad aerobatics i flew her close to the deck and gave the old boys something to talk about with some fast flybys and some hardbreaks to finish them off

...

but daylight was fading and i knew the inevitable would come. so i slowed her down and settled her back on the runway before parking her up.

...

I just didnt want it to end. like all good things i guess. i was just thankful it wasnt all a dream

Thank you everyone who followed the story. its not a real story of course but just a little fun i had in my head. any comments would be welcome.

Thanks again

Yeah I've seen many pictures like this, I'd prefer a non racing model but it's fun to play with default.

Great shots Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
