I recently downloaded this package and installed in on my flight sim. I'm using FSX, windows 7. It appears to load ok but when I select aircraft and select details, the a/c doesn't show up. When I try to fly an a/c, I see the scenery, flashing lights but no a/c. Is this a compatibility issue or am I missing something simple? Thanks for any help. Anyone else having problems with this package?

The reason the plane doesn't work for you is because Mr Hendrix aliased the model to the FSX Acceleration FA-18 & the "D" model is aliased to CS_FA-18D which is the Captain Sim F/A-18D.

So you would need both of those planes for this to work.

Really, I don't have Captain Sims F/A-18, and everything except for the weapon loadouts worked.

As I said, it needs the Acceleration FA-18 for one model & needs the CS FA-18 for the other model.

Thanks for the info. I will remove this package and remove the link to the captain sim thing. File deleted.

Try this one - should work fine ..

Hello Everyone.  I recently uploaded this aircraft to Simviation a few weeks ago, and I am sorry to hear there has been some confusion on its install.  So that I did not create any legality issues with Microsoft and others, I had to remove a few files and have them aliased (as mentioned before) to files that most should have already if they are flying the Microsoft Acceleration F/A-18.  If I didn't, I would be giving away a payware aircraft for free (no exactly legal...).

As long as you already have the default FSX Acceleration F/A-18 installed and in your Airplanes folder, our FSXBA F/A-18 will work as advertised.  As long as you have the CS_FA-18D (Captain Sim two-seater) installed, the two-seater will work as advertised.  If you do not have one or the other, then that respective aircraft will not work (as mentioned in the installation message).  We have seen this technique used successfully by others in the past and it seems to work quite well.

Many individuals (many who have their own products on Simviation) have put a lot to time, energy, and effort into making this aircraft behave much more like the real F/A-18 Hornet than the default Acceleration F/A-18, and we definitely want to share the fruits of our labor with others that are interested.  We believe many will enjoy flying it.

So....Admin, can you please reconsider re-posting the FSX Blue Angels variant of our F/A-18, or allow us to re-upload it to your server?  If not, can you please provide us with what we need to fix, in order for it to be allowed to be re-uploaded to your server?  Thanks in advance.

Hi Justin

I tried to contact you about this but there were no contact details included.

If you can re-upload the version without any capt sim or payware requirement I can post it.

If you want to make one to include the capt sim aircraft required then it is best to make this a separate file and I will post it in payware.

Thanks -- it was a great file!! I didn't like removing it but it was causing a lot of problems as it wasn't clear about what was required.

Yes, and that is often a problem. At least uploaders must give an e-mail to the main site, so site managers can be in contact.

Hello All,

After many fixes, add-ons and updates, the new FSX Blue Angels ver. 12.3 if finally available and has been re-uploaded to Simviation.  I think those who download and install it will really enjoy it.

A few things to note:
-The download is an installer to make it easy for most.

-Requirements:
---User must have FSX:  Acceleration installed.
---User must already have the default FSX: Acceleration F/A-18 Hornet for the single seater variant to work.
---User much already have the Captain Sim F/A-18D Hornet for the two seater variant to work.

-The installer gives you a choice between installing just the single seater or installing both the single AND two seater.  Again, YOU MUST HAVE THE CAPTAIN SIM F/A-18D Hornet for the two seater to work.

*To avoid legality issues, the 3-D models and a few other files have been aliased to the default FSX: Acceleration F/A-18 Hornet model for the single seater and the Captain Sim F/A-18D Hornet for the two seater.  If you do not have the aforementioned aircraft, the associated FSXBA variant will not work.

If there are any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to email me at jimi@fsxblueangels.com.
