Hola amigos.
I think it's time we address the rules for posting screenshots since the sticky and some mods quirky editing lately leaves some room for discussion.
The main point I want to bring up is links to offsite images. Now I, as many others here, use offsite hosting to show screenshots that are too big for simviation hosting as per the rules in the sticky. Now to be clear: I'm talking about links to the full size images, not posting the images. Most of the time nobody bats an eye but in my last screenshot thread on of the mods inexplicably took issue with this. I posted the images that show by hosting them on simviation.com as per the rules: 1024 width and under 155kb. Now what I did was also add links to the larger images that I hosted offsite. Something I and many others have done in the past and is obviously OK since the images don't load in the thread as per the rules.
Now the one thing I did different is that instead of just posting the links to the larger images as text I put it so that you could click the images (hosted on simviation.com as per the rules) in the thread for those that wanted. I did not post the offsite images, just the links. Like I said: this has been done by me and many others and is obviously acceptable. Is there some odd hidden rule that links must be in text form that we don't know of? And if so why? What difference does it make if you click a text link or an image as long as the images not hosted on simviation.com don't load in the thread?
Second of all is there some sort limit on how many images you should post in a thread? I generally stick to seven since that's what the simviation.com uploader takes in one go.

And thirdly, closely related to the first two issues: is the lack of consistency in moderation. One guy allows lots of pics in a thread, another edits the thread or breaks it up. Linking to offsite images is no issue but then one guy in one thread suddenly takes issue with it. I like it here, everyone contributes and it's alot of fun to join in. But above issues really put a damper on that enthusiasm and I don't think anyone wants that.

So in summary: please clarify the rules and also start being consistent in your moderation.

If you read what the uploader said you would know.

Max size for all files combined: 650kb.

So that's 650kb per thread.
