Hi raptorva...
Just a quick note on your Locheed Electra...
Before I switched over to the DC4s and 6s I was Captain and chief cook and bottle washer on the DC3 or Canso in the summer months.
I remember another Canadian Company flying into where we were.
The day was nice and bright with an outside temperature of around minus twenty (20) Celsius without the wind chill.
We were all working to unload our DC3 (captain, copilot and steward) everyone worked together and no stewardess in those days either...
Long winter underwear, heavy winter parka, lined winter jeans well you get the picture. Did not have to wear our company uniform on most freight runs...
I looked over and noticed the Electra crew still in the cockpit.
As a captain I walked over to have a look inside the aircraft by invitation and there they were in short sleeve shirts, dress uniform pants and nice and cozy in a warm heated cockpit thanks to their APU.
The Electra had a huge port side loading door and a roller system I think.
Sure beat our hand bombing up hill on a wet slippery metal floor in the old DC3...
Made me think twice about a position in the south of the province...
