I also like how he has an exact copy of Windows media player and claim's it as his own... He just changed the buttons positions, but the plugins are all the same.

If MS hears about this... Oh man...

It looks like a digitally signed e-mail is OK too.
Either that, or a fax, or a letter.
Seems that they have a pretty serious procedure to deal with alleged copyright infringement and to me it looks all but a bad thing.
In the future, Alrot, you might wanna take notice that it normally takes a few business days to reply to these complaints. You wrote them over the weekend didn't you?
As for your rightful discontent, I believe that almost anybody who designs FS models has had this once or twice. We both know you won't quit, 'cause heck, you're not in this for the money or you would have gone commercial by now. You do this for a passion, and that cannot be interrupted by no ill mannered brat.
PS: I wish my friends backed me like these guys here backed you, when someone steps on my toes! Consider yourself a lucky fellow  Wink

I sent him a VERY threatening email a few days ago telling him if he did not remove the file off his site within 48 hrs that I would be paying him a visit.

I even left a  message on his answering machine..

IT seems to have worked.. it is now gone.

There is no point in threatening people, it doesn't get you anywhere except Jail.

Resorting to, or actually using, methods that nudge up into the illegal, or borderline illegal, is never acceptable.

Once one resorts to that sort of activity they put themselves on the same level as the perpetrator(s).

Take the "high road" next time.  I'm sure Alejandro, or anyone for that matter, would not wish to be associated with activity that could be interpreted as criminal.

Jus' sayin'.

Don't worry I didn't do or say anything illegal.. I just said I would pay him a visit.. and showed him that I had his adress...

Then I left a message on his answering machine to check his email.

I just figured him knowing we have his home address and phone number would scare him into taking it down.. and it seems it has!!  Grin Grin

Good work SimV, and expessially Pete for getting the info that he did!!

No matter, it could have been perceived as a threat.  Also, you were not the only person to contact the individual or the web hosts, so please do not assume that your "threat" (even if it was not intended as an actual threat) is what cause the addon to be removed.

For whatever reason, it was removed, and that is the important point.

Agreed, we did this together. If it had only been one person emailing them then it probably wouldn't have been removed.

Also Michael, if another person pirates Alex's work please don't resort to threatening them. I'm sure Alex doesn't want his name associated with a bully.
