I've seen some of those paper models, they are not easy to build. And the youngest member? Probably Fozzer!
Flying with twins is a lot of fun..

Hmm...
This... Is Rio.
Loud and talkative Bengal cat. He's not ours; his owner lives two houses down, but he wanders around the neighborhood getting food and talking to his human friends. He'll sometimes get into a fight if he meets another cat though... But it's rare because he's kicked out all other cats in the neighborhood. He thinks all the houses are his too...
I came up with the name "ilikerio" way back in 4th grade, and I've used it with most user accounts ever since.

Haven't since I was a kid, but loved it back then. FYI, a burning piece of a parts tree (OUTSIDE, OF COURSE) under a battle weary engine or wing, will leave behind a nice layer of carbonized soot that no paint can replicate, and a red-hot pin or needle is very useful in making scale bullet holes.

I should try that sometime...

If you do, PLEASE take heed to the "outside" bit of my statement. Burning plastic is VERY toxic.

Oh... I use paper.
The burning part works very well (I tried it on a Cessna Skyhawk that I messed up), but I have to try the bullet holes one.

I have done a fair bit, both kits and own designs including radio control planes, control-line planes, Airfix kits, and once started with my Dad (and sadly never completely finished) a 1/3 scale Sopwith Camel to play in

I have a remarkable collection of Spitfire kits
I also enjoy making paper planes and balsa planes for the kids to play with. I'm currently part way through making a new kite for my daughter (she is actually pretty good).
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Hi Mark...
Kites...quite a history there.
The early aircraft were called Kites also by their pilots because they were rag, wood and glue.
Very popular in this area, they have competitions every several months and like Hot Air Balloons, some pretty colourful kits or home made designs.
Radio Control is also quite poplular here and we are fortunate to be able to watch them every Sunday do takeoffs and landings on the river.
Hope you help the wee one build a Box Kite Mark...one of my favourites...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Used to build plastic models all the time. My favorite scale was 1:72nd... they were just big enough to show some cockpit detail, but not TOO complicated. I always loved browsing through Scale Plastic Modeler Magazine, looking at all of the dioramas people created and all of the building tips. Tried my hand at some Verlinden stuff but boy was it complicated!
I still have some of my models suspended from the ceiling with fishing line to give the illusion of flight...

I have two paper models currently hanging from the ceiling: A Gee Bee R-1 and a V-1 Rocket.

I would never have guessed that.
I never got round to painting mine or sticking the decals on.
For me it was just the fun of putting it together.

As a kid I built an airfix Catalina, really enjoyed it. In the end I took it out in the garden and put a rook scarer in it and watched it explode
...fantastic fun.

Do paper planes count?
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
