I have looked at the tail wheel several times in the second shot...something about that tire looks strange... Huh

Aircraft:
-Bristol Beaufighter
-Hawker Tempest
-AVRO Lancaster
-Handley Page Halifax

Plus many more were equipped with the Dunlop-Marstrand "Twin Contact" Anti-Shimmy Tyre

This tyre could also be mounted on nose wheel aircraft also.

About two thirds down...

That Halifax shown retrieved from a lake is the RCAF Halifax restored and in our museum here in Trenton Ontario.

It will fly but it is the only one in the world...they have recovered two more from what I hear.
Hope to see one flying with the Canadian War Plane Heritage Lancaster.
