Thought I had posted this last night but, since I don't see it, I might have never actually posted it after previewing. Took the P-47 up to 35,000 ft last night over the Hawaiian islands to catch the last of the sun as it set. I forgot that you can begin to see the curvature of the earth from up there:

Cool shot.........the ol' Jug can really get some altitude Shocked

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

It's service ceiling is 40,000 feet. The first 35K takes about a half hour. So the trip up to there isn't too bad. From that point, the last 5K will take another 20-30 minutes and can be quite tedious. I just didn't feel like going the rest of the way. Once you're up there you can't do much except try to maintain altitude. So it's not much fun. The last time I had it up there was two years ago for my video review of A2A's P-47.

Stang, thank you. They're all good, if they get you off the ground. Smiley
