Ah I see. Well, that's silly. In any case, it was announced today that Bioware is releasing a DLC to hopefully explain a few things sometime this summer. It'll be free. I don't think they will get rid of the starchild, but might be something to look into.
I sure hope you're right... Unfortunately it was the starchild more than anything else that ruined it for me, so unless they manage to fix that up it won't make heaps of difference IMHO
