The reflective texutre in the water I think is from the stars to some degree. It looks like a thin layer of grey film and little puffy white patches that dance across it. I don't know much about the full power of this new flight environment but i'm guessing i'll be able to get rid of that some how? Well if anything I hoped you enjoyed the sets. I think its working now I just have to play with it a bit. If I have any other tech questions about REX I will submit them in payware. Thanks for checking on me Wink

Mike

Shot 3 is meant to show how starie the sky is but I don't think you can really tell from this shot. Should of left it out...

Great shots mike! And glad to see you're working with REX now! Yes, like FSX, REX takes a little settings fiddling to make it fuction well on your system. One big piece of advice is, skip all that texture loading time by making your own theme (experiment with texture combinations to see what looks best) and then disable those decided-on textures from reloading in the Options tab. I'm set with things like taxiways, runways, lights and Sun effects, and especially tropical water/coral (they seem to take ages to "colorize"). Then the only options I exchange regularly are Sky colors, Clouds, and Water textures. Really saves time on loading textures.

as for the blurry shorelines, I used to get that with default water, so usually had it disabled, but I found that some water schemes don't seem to make that 'floating shore' effect anymore. I believe I also saw some improvement with water textures when I added this to my fsx.cfg:

(under [GRAPHICS])

ALLOW_SHADER_30=1

This will make FSX Shader 3 compatible, which I believe REX uses. (someone much brighter and 'in-the-know' than I am will probably blow me out of the water on this...)  Roll Eyes Anyway, that also seemed to darken the water somewhat at night. That or I'm just seeing things again.  Cheesy again FSX default water was bright at night on my modest rig from the start.

Hope you enjoy avoiding your new weather!  Smiley

The colors are awesome in the first two Cool Cool

Your water does look strange though........ Undecided

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
