It was awesome! I live about an hour and a half away from Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota. I knew they were going to be flying them today so I went and watched.  For a bomber those aircraft are fast and agile... and loud.  Smiley They were also flying low altitude and the angle at which they were turning was unbelievable. I mean, the one had his/her B1 at about the angle of this backslash... /  I wish I had thought to take my camera...  Undecided  It was cool though. there were 2 of them and one would take off, go about 3-4 miles out and circle around, then the other one would take off and do the same thing, while the previous one landed. They did this for about 45 minutes. Just taking off, circling, and then landing. The size was kind of impressive too.

Why you not take camera? That is my favorite bomber to bad the USAF brass never went with the plan to modernize it with the F-22 style motors, and other stuff, that would have made it even more bad ass.

I believe that was the B-1R project. I have no idea what has come of it, I think the project quietly died. But with the B-X program in full swing then maybe it could come back. One can hope!
