Here in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand it is Art Deco weekend which means the
old farts
I mean people of Hawkes Bay get dressed up & bring out their old cars & show off.
Art Deco Weekend.
There is also a small airshow & static display. There is among other planes a de Havilland DH-89A Dragon Rapide on display this year & it also takes people on scenic tours of the area.
It flew over my house so I thought I would have my own virtual tour.
The Aircraft is
Dave Garwood's Dragon Rapide.
Cold & dark.
Everyone ready?
Leaving Napier Airport. (AKA Hawkes Bay Regional Airport)
Everyone ok back there? (‘You’re an ugly lot’ the pilot mutters)
Final Approach to Bridge Pa Aerodrome. (AKA Hastings Aerodrome)
Landed, everything off, now
PISS OFF
I mean passengers if you could please disembark, I hope you have enjoyed your flight.

Great shots of a cool airplane....well done, Andy
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Every time I see this aircraft, I think of the British Airways commercial "to Fly"
