I was watching a show on TV and they said that there was a plan to retrofit P-51's with trike landing gear, did this ever go into effect with any? Smiley

The only modified P-51s I have ever heard of or seen is the P-82 Twin Mustang, and the Piper Enforcer, which is essentially a turboprop version of the P-51.

Yep, and even the re engined Enfocer had a tailwheel in the 80s.

To do a trike they'd probably need to re-engineer the whole wing to reposition the mainwheels for a start.
