To boldly go where no-one has gone before! Grin

Since I actually won last month I wasn't gonna bother to enter this one, but the theme was too fun to resist.

The Enterprise 1701-A is from here on Simv, by Bruce Fitzgerald, and the rest is just good old MS.

Wouldn't count, lol. After all, the theme is the future of flight and as we all know, Star Wars was "long ago, in a galaxy far, far away."  Grin

Yeah, all of Bruce Fitzgerald's Star Trek models are absolutely stunning.  Shocked

Eh, yes, but have the craft ever actually been built before?  (working ones that is) Cheesy  The story may be from the past, but the models could actually turn out to work in real life once we get the technology.

And I'll make sure to check them out! Smiley

As a semi reformed Trekkie, I would like to point out that is not NCC-1701-A, but NCC-1701 post refit, as unveiled in the first Star Trek Motion Picture.  NCC-1701-A replaced it after it was destroyed in Star Trek III/IV.  Ok, I'm done being a nerd for a while.

I bow to your nerdness, and am now kicking myself for the failure! Grin Although in fairness, the ST:TMP refit of the original Enterprise lacks the "-A" on the saucer, other than that the ships are identical, and I only said NCC-1701-A in an effort to differentiate it from the original series Enterprise, to avoid confusion in the screenshot, which, in retrospect, must make me a nerd of absolutely EPIC proportion. Mind you,  I have gone out in public in a command gold uniform shirt...

Very nice sci-fi shot indeed, great minds and all that Smiley

I'm gonna start an argument with a question:

What is the best Star Trek movie?

Of the original-cast six movies, they go 2 (wrath of Kahn), 4 (voyage home), 6 (undiscovered country), 3 (search for spock), 1 (motion picture), and then 5 (pointless crap).  Grin

Also worth a mention, of all of the generations and refits and looks and remodels of the Enterprise, the one above is my aboslute favorite version.

Second favorite would have to be the 1701-C, then the D, E, Original, and crappy B in last place. That's a better argument, lol!

Absolutely agree, Wrath of Kahn is by far the best. It has some brilliant dialogue, courtesy of Herman Melville. It would be difficult to create a story about blind revenge without some thought of Captain Ahab

"to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee."

Bloody brilliant in context even though it was borrowed.

Star Trek 2 hands down the best of the any ST movies.  5 was just dribble, other than the first 15 minutes has nothing to do with any of the other stories.  The 1st movie, was quite long and just had a wierd feel to it to me, just couldn't get into it.
