Greetings all.

I am currently in the process of evaluating my requirements for a new PC that I need to build for my University graphics course to replace my current 2004 HP Pavilion machine which I have also been using for FSX for years.

I want to use this new rig at good speeds for FSX (though I'm not obsessed with maxing any sliders, provided its smooth and looks good).

I plan on using the Airbus X I have and the upcoming QualityWings BAe-146 as well as some Carenado aircraft with Orbxs FTX Australia, YMML and YBBN as well as REX 2.0+Overdrive.

I've used other peoples builds to roughly get an idea for what I can get with the budget I have but I would like any feedback, suggestions, changes, etc that anyone might have. I especially want to know if these components are all compatible with each other as my knowledge in this area is sadly lacking.

Also if you are wanting to know I'd like to OC this rig to about 4.5/4.6 if that is possible to keep away those dreaded blurries and stutters that so plague my current machine.

Thank you for your time.

...

P.S. I already have a 24" LED HD monitor that I can use for this rig so that is not on the list. As for the keyboard and mouse, they don't really bother me and I preferred the wired ones to wireless.

Well I completely forgot about this post but I've had my machine now for a couple weeks and I certainly do enjoy it. It runs FSX fairly nicely even if I'm still getting some slight stutters now and then around ORBXs YMML (oddly YBBN I have no issues with despite it being more complex than YMML). I haven't tried too many add-ons other than my usual Airbus X and it runs nicely. If I find the money eventually I'll get the NGX just so that I have both NBs.

Ended up going with;

Intel i7 2600k processor @ 4.5GHz, Asus z68 V-Pro Gen3 Motherboard, 8GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline CL7 DDR3 RAM, Gigabyte 3072mb GTX-580 Video Card, 2x OCZ 120Gb Vertex 3 Series SATA III SSDs, Corsair Hydro H100 Series liquid cooler, Coolermaster TX850M PSU, Coolermaster HAF-X Case.
