Hi All
Have just registered and am thinking of trying flight sims again after many years of COD killing and shooting. Looking at Flight sim X gold but also want to try VFR addons. My quick question is do I have to buy specific FSX vfr scenary disks or will any VFR scenery disk (i.e. mfs 2004 vfr scenery disks) work on this version. Fleabay looks the cheapest way to buy VFR but I dont want to buy the wrong ones. Thank you in advance for any help Smiley

VFR, If you get a legal copy of FSX Gold there is countless freeware that are able to fly under Visual Flight Rules including all of the default aircraft. If I understood your question properly.

(FSX does not need to run with a disc in the tray)

Thank you for your reply. I realise that i did not make my post clear so i have now edited it. I was refering to different versions of VFR scenery disks. Some state 2002/2004 and some state MFS-X so I wondered if all versions are compatable or only those that state "X". Since the post I have bought FSX gold from Fleabay so am looking for some cheap scenery to enhance the game/simulator. I am particular interested in Northern England and Tampa/Florida. Any suggestions for good scenery as I now realise that many companies provide software compatable with FSX. Cheers

Just out of curiosity, you do realize FSX has the entire world modelled by default.  Add-on sceneries just add additional detail and realism, but are not necessary.
