I installed FS2004 to Win 07 in my new computer last March, runs great, fast, good frames, so you should be OK, but wait for other replies here, cause I just dropped it in without thinking too much about it. I don't know my system specs offhand, but they're up, up there where they need to be for FS04, my system is fast and has lots of mem, both RAM and whatever else.
Don't know about FSX.
You might want to post your sys specs, that would make it easier for anyone to advise you.
Lots o' luck.

Both FSX and FS9 work fine under W7. The only care you should pay is not to install either under the Program folder (
or any other folder containing the word "program", I heard
) because then you'll have problems with the security settings of the OS.
Just make a general "
Games
", or "
Simulators
", or whatever you want folder and install either or both under it and you'll be fine.
There is no such a thing as overkill. Only unworthy targets.

I don't see what the problem is with installing fsx in program files(x86).
I've got my copy of fsx installed there & I don't have any problems.
If the OS keeps asking you for administrator permission just right-click the fsx folder & un-tick the box read-only & press apply.

No screen capture works. Mgrab, SnapShot, & FSScreen all take pictures of my desktop & not FSsim........incompatibility issue?

I use the 64-bit Pro version. It's a great OS. Only problem I have is that adding airplanes seems to be quite a bit more difficult than it was with XP. I could add a model in about a minute under XP. Adding (or trying to add) the Stratojet Merlin has caused me to use words my mom doesn't know I know. Other than that, it's peachy. Love the Snip feature. Great for screenies...
