Only the other night I was thinking about looking up some old friends on Facebook from my ATC days, I then got busy fixing another laptop and forgot about it. I was wondering what had happened to all the old gang however.
Today I popped into Halfords just down the road from the office to get a couple of bits, who should I run into to but my fellow ex-Flt Sgt from my old Sqn who is now the store manager there! Needless to say I was late back from lunch as we were so busy gossiping like old ladies.
We've exchange numbers and are going out for a beer soon (we only live a few miles apart!) and I've found the old so-and-so on facebook and it has put me back in contact without 20 people from my air cadet days.
What a totally fantabulous day I'm having Cool

Here is another strange coincidence I stumbled upon just this morning while thinking of your names.
Scary Shocked

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Actually John lives just down the road from my mum and despite all the legends and myths surrounding him he is actually a rather nice chap! Unless you're a chicken... he has a bit of a pathological hatred of chickens!

Before he became famous John worked in a poultry factory in Birmingham. He has a real thing about chickens!
When Sharon brought some chickens for the garden whilst he was away on tour things sort of soured badly upon his return. The long and the short of it was he killed all but one of the chickens with a shotgun (it escaped) so he proceeded to chase it around the garden armed only with a sword, he'd run out of ammo, dangerous things these chickens.
My mums friend (his next door neighbour) pops her head over the hedge to say hello and at this very moment John's boxer short elastic fails... unfortunately he was only wearing boxers Grin Grin Grin
My mums friend with infinite control said "I heard you were back John, just unwinding after the tour?" to a man basically naked in his own garden with a sword over his head and bits of chicken strewn across the garden. Now that is what I call keeping your cool Grin Grin Grin

Modern technology is wonderful.  Just last night, (about 1:30 a.m. actually)  I was thinking of a old girlfriend of an ex-pal.  I was able to locate her using only my phone in less than five minutes, just lying there in bed.   Cool
Absolutely amazing.  If  anyone told me 25 years ago I would be able to do that I would have told them they are full of it.

For all the bad press Facebook sometimes gets, it does a great job of reconnecting people.  Living far away from my hometown, it is a easy way to stay in touch with friends and family back home, and all that have like me scattered across the country.

I even found two friends from high school that happened to live just an hour away from where I live now, what are the odds?

I'm just awaiting a suitable response from Fozzer, I imagine it'll be some fresh cooking ingredients laid out in a pattern to let me know what part of whose anatomy I am Grin Grin Grin
