Good evening all... Smiley

I searched several sites on the internet for the answer to this question.
I already knew the answer but I needed to print several findings from several sites to give a person who insists that a ships Captain can marry someone... Smiley

Question:
Can an Airline Captain or a Ship's Captain legally marry someone either aboard a military or civilian aircraft or ship?

Answer:
NO

It has been a myth handed down by sailors from a bygone era... Wink

Even if the Captain performing the marriage held Justice of the Peace Papers it would not necessarily be legal.

Some of the sites had some interesting examples and answers... Wink

Grin...Thanks Steve

I read that Link before Steve and even if the Captain held all those papers and the folks were married in the United States the marriage would not likely be recognised in Canada or elsewhere.... Smiley....unless things have changed that I have not read or heard about.... Smiley
