I was reading this article when a thought came to me.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/yeti-crabs-ghost-octopus-unique-life-found-1st-22090363...

No one has really monitored sub Arctic vents over a longer period of time. Now, they release heat and toxic black smoke under an ice shield many fathoms up. So say the thermal vents get over active for a period of time. What would happen to the ice shield above?

I suspect that Mother Nature will have her own way, as she always has done, and most of the time there is not a lot we can do about it, try as we might!

At the moment I am very glad/extremely glad that "Global Warming?" appears to be keeping my Winter days and nights reasonable comfortable...9:00 AM...12*C, and rising... Smiley...!
I just hope it keeps up!

Paul...."Deep Ocean Smokers?"...I gave up smoking years ago, but "Thermal Vents Vests" keep me warm!.... Cheesy...!

Thanks for the replies guys (Chaps)  Smiley Fozz you hit the nail on the head when you said mother nature. Every time a big chunk of ice breaks off one of the polar ice caps all I read about in the media is how humans have caused it. Mother nature is almost never mentioned. Over active deep sea vents could change the world wide weather big time by warming areas in the ocean. Maybe all the collegians predicting the earths demise have forgotten to feel the soil between their fingers.
