I have run into a really strange problem within the learning center lessons.  On my FSX main computer, when firing up the takeoff lesson, it starts up somewhere which looks to be a golf course.  No airport...however, when I start the same lesson on my laptop, it comes up holding short at the runway.  Would anyone know what would cause this?  Would it be a corrupt takeoff lesson file.  All of the other lessons seem to be working fine.

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

what happens if you goto the same airport in free flight, can you see the runway then?   (kpwt ??)

change view, lets say to tower, can you see runways then, or on spot view?
I don't know any of the scenery files and without booting my old pc up and using the sdk I don't know which scenery file is used..

If you have sdk installed, use it to check which file the airport is in and try copying from laptop to pc, backup original one first.

Have you installed any new scenery files recently?

The below details are roughly where you should be in that lesson.

[Tower]
Latitude=N047* 29' 45.9283"
Longitude=W122* 46' 05.9550"
Altitude=+000534.00
[Track]
Latitude=N041* 51' 38.5897"
Longitude=W087* 42' 43.5498"
Altitude=+000131.00

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

Thanks for your reply EVV.  I actually found out what the problem was.  I went into settings and had to check some of the base scenery files, and when I went back into the program I was sitting holding short at the runway that you mentioned.  Again, thanks.  I'll get this thing figured out one of these years.    Smiley
