Who do you think would come out on top in a sea battle? Captain "Lucky Jack" Aubrey and the HMS Surprise from MASTER AND COMMANDER or Captain Jack Sparrow and the Black Pearl from PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN?

A most interesting comparison.

Captain "Lucky Jack" Aubrey and the HMS Surprise from MASTER AND COMMANDER.

Why? I'd say he has his sea battle tactics (and tricks also) down pat.

I agree, plus I think the Surprise would have a greater complement of fighting men including the Royal Marines in the fighting Tops. Wink

Isn't the Black Pearl supposed to be sort of magical? I think between the magic, the numerous guns, and the crazed crew, she would do very well against a British man'o'war.
