Hi everyone,
So I took advantage of the 50% off sale and just installed REX for my FSX.
There are two things I'm not sure about and was hoping someone could help me.
My first question is about the airport ground, runway, etc textures on REX. Will they overwrite the textures on my payware airports? I'd like to keep the payware airports default textures.
My next question is about the "Low Level Visibility" setting. Is this for real-time weather only? I read about the feature in the manual but I don't fully understand it.
I don't use real-time weather. I usually just set it up in FSX with 20mi visibility from 0 to 15000 ft and then 50mi visibility from 15000 ft and up.
So does that mean I should set "Low Level Visibility" in REX to 20 mi?
I normally run FEX, so I'm still trying to get the hang of the extra settings in REX.
Thanks

Hey,
I've used REX for a while and I've got a few addon airports to UK2000 EGCC, EGLL and EGGP and REX doesn't overwrite them at all.
As for the Low Level Visibility I don't actually know I've had it on different settings but never really noticed a major difference.
Hope you enjoy REX as much as I have. I'd recommend downloaded REX overdrive, it's free and available from the REX website. It has a lot more texture for you to choose from and a lot of them are HD enabled!

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your help. I will definitely be downloading Overdrive.
I'm really enjoying REX. FEX is great but never made me go "Wow" like REX did. FEX is a nice improvement over default FSX textures but I find REX to be on a whole different level. It's a completely different feel and atmosphere with REX. And I've only used one of the preset themes so far. Can't wait to try the others.
I tried the real time weather feature last night and I think I like it. No weird visibility layers like the default fsx real time weather, and overall, I find it more realistic.
Thanks again.
