Simply stated an outstanding selection. The fact that several newbies were selected as finalists by the "Mods" speaks volumes about their integrity. I didn't think much of my chances, the other entries were all fantastic.
I tried to get bloom and lense flair as suggested but couldn't get the colour directly into the sun, flying truckers shot managed it though...... Anway, I concentrated on composition and angle with a flash of foliage.
Also and very importantly:
As a newbie here and a veteran web forum user, I would say that this forum is one of the most welcoming and egalitarian that I have come across......

I must say, it was that AMAZING sky against the aircraft and clouds that got me the most.
