While I don't finish the Yak-15 here's some eyecandy:
You probably remember the FSX Electrosphere pack I released in 2008 (or not).
Even so here's the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tVoe_m1Oxw
Anyways, those models were a bit, well, let's say basic...
So I decided to remake the three R-100 aircraft.
The R-101 has it's exterior almost complete:
Old render of the plane:
hi-res renders:

Original Namco render:

The R-102 has only the basic model with texture made:

And the R-103 which isn't even started:
Thanks for looking...

Wow expand
. That's great
. I assume you will make one of those great weird vc's
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Almost finished with the landing gear... up next: external view cockpit.
To-do:
VC: all details+all gauges+buttons/switches+animations+xml coding
Exterior: Texture cockpit and pilot. Add details to the cockpit and some parts of the plane.
Up is the way to go.

Ok, moved a bit forward on this in the last week:
http://threedmaniak.deviantart.com/#/d4yhqyy
http://threedmaniak.deviantart.com/#/d4yhr29
http://threedmaniak.deviantart.com/#/d4yhr0t
That cockpit picture is a bit outdated, though...
I also took it for a few rides in FSX to test the bump mapping and specular mapping. I'll upload pictures of it later this sunday...

Sorry for the imageshack links, but I don't have time to resize every single picture to obey the forum's exceedingly strict uploader. Sorry.

Wow Xpand, looks great! Also, heres a tip: for the landing gear, I think some shiny chrome should be added to add a touch of realism since the white textures don't quite look realistic.

Thanks!
Yeah, I still haven't adjusted the alpha channel for reflections, I'm only using it for a small transparent part in the cockpit. But I'll complete it.

Thanks! Well, the exterior is pretty much done for now. It only lacks the shifting VC (See my SX-1A for enlightment) and the custom made gauges and animation codes... I say it will be done around August, maybe...

When I have nothing else to do... I want to wrap up this and the VPAV-1A before that plane. And I'm also working on some side projects for a game in development... So, yeah, it's probably gonna take some time...

Working on the original AC3 HUD:
http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/8843/ac3hud.jpg
And added an airbrake because the original plane didn't have any:

I know I know, simviation uploader, but I didn't have the patience to reduce the image size...
Added the controls:
Oh man, it's going to be a torture mapping an texturing every single part...

Thanks!
I can't wait to get started on the gauge coding! I learned some math tricks for programming this year in university. Can't wait to apply them.
