Whilst im troubled by hard drive issues im reluctant to start anything on the re-paint side till i get a new HD from the States...Baring that in mind, does anyone know of a really good repaint for David Maltbys Trident in the BEA 'high speed jack' livery, particulary G-ARPI? I think G-ARPI was a '1C' and DM's Tridents dont include a '1C' but im sure that can be got around
A quick search around reveals nothing.....ive downloaded the paintkit for the DM trident but its not quite what i was expecting! For the life of me i cant recall how to put it all together
. In time i will figure it and im sure i can do somthing with it, there loads of reference pics out there for this livery.....
G-ARPI - or 'Papa India' is in fact the Trident that crashed just after take-off from heathrow in 1972.

While I can't help you with the repaint, I can say, good job wanting the repaint. Godspeed to the souls who lost their lives on that flight. And thank YOU for keeping their honor alive! Kind regards, Jeremy

Indeed. Whilst not wanting to appear goulish or anything this particular incident has always been of interest since i found somthing about it in the school libary way back goodness knows when.
The fact that there was no CVR on this aircraft probably means we will never know just exactly what happened on the flight-deck in those final few seconds.
The Accident report trying to figure just who retracted the droop, The Captains possible incapacitation presumably whilst he was 'Pilot Handling' (although the report mentions some switch being in 'P2' rather than 'P1' and concluding someone trampled on that particular part of the flight-deck during rescue attempts) and all sorts of other little details continue to mystify and fascinate me, and no doubt others.
Other reports from the scene as regards just where Captain Collins (Not THE captain, but in the jump seat) was found, and what he was holding (an air freshener?) No fire on impact (although there was a small fire later), the captains daughter commenting on various aspects and suspicion as to the report making sure the Trident itself came out of this with no blame as sales were and remained poor.
Loads more but fascinating.

It's a strange bit of irony that G-ARPI was involved in an accident before the crash as well when it it's tail section was sheered of by another aircraft that also crashed. Quite spooky to think about really. Kind regards, Jeremy
