Goodly morning Jakes...
There is something about sitting in a flying machine with a million moving parts all flying in unison looking for a place to have an accident...
Ever since my first ride in a Bell 47 on skids I have been intrigued with Helicopters.
Our company operated several types but sold them off several years later,(they had too many fingers in too many pies and government contracts were drying up) that was just before the American Vietnam War Era.
They even offered to pay for my Commercial Helicopter Rating which would have been half the price as I already held a Senior Commercial and working on my ATR.
I never saw much use for helicopters at that time as they were far to slow and maintenance was always ongoing.
Of course I said the same about those suck a blow jets also...
Would have had to live in the bush for six months of the year and the old girl would have nothing to do with it.
It was bad enough I was only home one or two weekends a
month then...
I remained a steadfast happy piston pounder...
Several of our children hold Fixed and Rotary Licences and are checked out on several types, both military and civilian.
It does make for some interesting conversations at times when we all gather around the kitchen table, a few wobbly pops thrown in and I decide to STIR the POT about rotary aircraft, much to the annoyance of the old girl...
That is when I sit back and listen to them argue.
Aviators just never change....
Well done on the shots...look good...
