Change af CFG FILE for win7 (Read 299 times)

Hey


I just want to know, how to change the CFG File for an aircraft. everytime i try - I been told that im not allowed for it. I have done it long time ago, but just forgot how.  Undecided

It will be nice to have som new textures for my jets  Cool

The simplest way is to save to CFG file to another location (i.e Desktop)then copy and paste is back to where it was originally this over writes the original version leaving you with the edited one.

Or you can turn down the user account control settings. This will allow you to just save the files normally.

Remember that in W7 the default location for FSX is protected and cannot be overwritten - at least not in my setup which I have not changed on purpose.

What you need to do is move (move not copy) the file to be edited out of the folder - then edit it - save it - then move the file back into the default FSX folder.

Copying works far better as if you move the original you run the risk of having no copy of the original if you mess it up.
