lost lights when viewed from inside cockpit (Read 778 times)

Uh-OH! I lost my landing/ Taxi lights from inside the cockpit.

but, when viewed from outside they appear...

Any suggestions?

what aircraft is this on? certain craft during the modeling stage messes up the lights.

There's no #5


light.5= 1, -37, 0, -5.6, fx_beaconh not this #5, but, lets say:

always helps to know what aircraft or,,,,,,,,, is it all of them?

I'm sorry, what I was trying to point out, (but I was distracted watching the football results on the TV). Is that, did you try  to add the line: 5 = landing in the aircraft cfg?

light.X = 5,
-00, 0, -0.0
,
fx_xxxxx


The three #'s are the positions of the lights: from the cockpit eyepoint = -]-
00, 0, -0.0
//Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet),  the tricky part, is just playing with the #'s to find the right position.
A good starting point is to look at the:

[Views]
eyepoint = -0.000, -0.00, 0.00    //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet)   in that aircrafts cfg.

The
fx_xxxxx
is in the effects folder:
fx_landing.fx,
just copy and paste.

Now hears the bad news, If it's not in the MDL file it might not work. As far as panel lighting goes you can try adding interior lights to an aircraft  thru the panel cfg, but not exterior, and then again it depends on the MDL.

I would have eventually found that there was no landing light entry.  the reason I asked my first question (***what aircraft is this on? certain craft during the modeling stage messes up the lights.***)   is because the DEFAULT LEAR 45 has a Landing/Taxi light problem, but yet there IS an entry for it.  If you try to turn it on, it turns right back off, but all other NAV lights are fine.    No matter what Light switch / gauge you use to turn them on/off, it will NOT stay on.



From the Default Lear 45::

I like working on my own vehicles and the one problem I hate to face is,,,,,,,,electrical!

I've really have gotten into customizing and tweeking  (sim)aircraft and the hardest part is the lighting.

From what I've learned is that this might have something to do with simulated electronics in simulated aircrafts:

And Capt. Propwash, here's something I found concerning the LEAR45:

This is from the  FSX Lear45 cfg:

generator_alternator_voltage = 28.0
max_generator_alternator_amps = 400.0


And this one is from the FS9 Lear45 cfg:

yeah. now that I went back and looked in FS9 as well.... the Lear 45 there does it too.  No Landing or Taxi lights.  All other NAV lights work, but not the landing and taxi lights.

when you hit **L** to turn them on, they flash on and go right back off.   bug in the craft??? Probably.   My only guess is there is something messed up in the Model.


Being that I have both FS9 and X, I'll check it out on my end as well to see what I come up with.   Might just import the whole .CFG from FS9 to X to see if that makes a difference (and the .AIR file while im at it.)
