AM sure this is an old Question, but the new look of the forum is not user friendly and prevents me from finding existing answers.
I remember there is a trick to add new scenery to FSX because one can not see sometimes the dir where the downloaded files are... can someone help me please?

When you get to the point where you see the folder location and scenery name displayed. Right click on a blank area of that window. When you do you should see the folder list with the new name added.

When you download a scenery (or aircraft) you should be prompted on where you want to save it to. I download to a "FSX Download" folder. From there you have to extract the zipped folder, and that process usually prompts you as to where you want the contents sent to. If you do not specify a location, it will unzip to the location of the zipped file. Most people then copy the unzipped folder to the "Addon Scenery" folder in FSX.

I suspect you're using Win7. This video should help.
