Ive tried asking about this before, but I don't think ppl understood what I was asking..

The problem is, when I choose a view, like flyby, or tower view, where the aircraft isnt as close to the "camera" as spot view, all I can see is the aircrafts lights..

It is not an individual aircraft problem, it doesnt matter which aircrat I use, the problem is exactly the same across all aircraft, and AI aircraft, making me think its a fsx.cfg issue.

I can see the aircraft perfectly fine in a normal spot view, and if I zoom in close enough in other views like flyby, and tower view where the plane takes up more then a 5th of the screen I see it fine, but when I zoom out any less then that all I see is the aircraft lights, or if its an AI, or multiplayer A/c I see the aircraft information tag, and lights but no aircraft.. atlaeast not unless I zoom in more. then it pops up.

is there a setting in fsx.cfg that affects the max distance that you can see aircraft from?

I hope yous understand what the issue is..

here is a screenshot showing what I mean.. As you can see, it is more then close enough that you should be able to see the airplane, but all you see is lights.

It is with the defualt Beechcraft Baron 58.

I think that it is hard to see an aircraft any more than a few miles away. Have you ever followed an AI and once it gets further from you you don't really see the plane anymore, just the labels if you have turned them on. There is only so many pixels available on the screen and the AC sort of gets swallowed up in them. You can try increasing your screen resolution settings but it is what it is. Zooming in, regardless of which view you are in, is your best recourse. AC Labels, zoom and things like the info bar/line are there to make up for the difference of what we can see in real life and the ability of PC monitors to match it.

I dont know if you seen the aircraft lights on the pic I provided, but there is at least 50 pixels inbetween the wing lights, where the aircraft isnt visible. THe aircraft is less then a NM away. more like a .6-.8 nm away, where the plane should be clearly visible.

Maybe this will help. Although I have never tried it, don't forget to back up original file. http://fsxtimes.wordpress.com/2011/09/29/fsx-cfg-smallpartrejectradius/

the lights that I see in the pic look to me like you are in TOWER VIEW and you tried to zoom out.  Hence why it disappeared.   I have had no aircraft anywhere disappear like this at all.... but I have had my ENTIRE FSX, AND ALL RELATING FILES Disappear off of my 2 (TWO) harddrives, like it was uninstalled (including the registry!!!!!)
