i know they have massive and dangerous one in the US but some of the smaller ones can still scare the life out of you.
i don't mind them if the are in a web or the realy fast brown ones you always find in garages and i used to love them but some...
at school i was about to wash my hands and i didn't look but i bent over and put my hands i and i was suddenly looking at a big giant common house spider.
i was like:holy ****
someone put it outside but before that bit him.
and in our house we now have giant common house spiders
and one that i could only identify as:bbhfb or:big(4cm)black hairy f****** bastards.
those bbhfbs are everywhere.
just a while ago there where 2 in the bathroom.
i saw a big one (5cm) on the wall and the i suddenly notticed another smaller(4cm) one running towards me.
and there used to be a garden spider(?) infront of our window with a web about 2 meters wide and 1 meter tall
didn't mnd it,but then a storm destroyed the web and the spider died.
tell me about your other experiences.
and do you kill or release spiders?
we kill depending or release depending on the species.

I have a great admiration for Spiders.
Fortunately, in England, although we have many varieties, House and Garden varieties, none of them are poisonous or at all dangerous.
My house is full of them, I enjoy watching them, (and they enjoy watching me!), and they keep me company!...
...!
They mean me no harm, so I leave them alone to do whatever they want to do...with my blessing!...
...!
Spiders are highly intelligent creatures, and deserve our respect...

About 5 weeks ago my spider friendly attitude changed. I was getting ready for work one morning, put my socks on, then my shoes. As soon as I pulled my right shoe lace tight I felt an intense sharp pain on the top off my foot, an incredibly sharp and unbearable pain. I dropped to the floor and ripped my shoe off in near panic, then my sock. Out of my sock fell a spider and it began crawling away, so I killed it and saved it in a jar. This stabbing pain lasted most of the day and since I couldn't put my shoe on, I missed work that day. Ever since I shake my clothing out before putting them on.

I have no problems with spiders, but if a moth enters the room, I go green, soil myself and leave by the nearest door, window or chimney. Oddly, butterflys are no problem at all

Looks like a scorpion to me. The band was probably named after it, like Crickets, Beatles etc.
The scary looking arachnid in your

is harmless.

I once had a roommate that had a tarantula as a pet.
They are harmless to humans, James Bond notwithstanding.

Yes, the entire interweb searches I did the day I got stabbed said most spider bites are painless and harmless. Not. I got bitten in a country that claims to have few dangerous spiders. By compressing it against my foot with a shoe lace it went into defence mode and bit me.
Alex, those are some big a$$ bugs, do you check your shoes before putting them on?

To the best of my knowledge, there are only three venomous spiders in the U.S., the Black Widow, Tarantula, and the Brown Recluse. The widow bite is not usually fatal unless untreated.
The Recluse is pretty much the same, except the bite site can have a lot of tissue damage, especially when not diagnosed and treated soon. In short, the recluse is the worst of the three.
The Tarantula, while painful, is not fatal and won't cause the damage the Recluse will. Having said all that, I have Arachnophobia and will have a fit if I can't identify one as not being one of the above,
especially if I can't get to it to kill it.
The Tarantula is rather large and hairy, while the Recluse is much smaller, and the Black Widow even smaller.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Yes Alex. They are
Amblypygi
. Relatives of the spider and scorpions
.
Paul, What
Don't
you like
.
Larry, all tarantulas are venomous. Most tarantulas just don't have enough venom to kill/hurt humans. They do have 1 cm Spike thingy's (forgotten their name)
.
It seems South America is the worst place to live in if you're afraid of venomous insects,
Africa If you're afraid of large carnivores and elephants that like tearing humans into pieces
,
Australia/New Zealand afraid of venomous reptiles and kangaroos,
Asia afraid of tigers,
North America afraid of snow
US of America afraid of Warthogs, And Birds that throw you off cliffs.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

I personally love arachnids! I used to have a pet scorpion called Stan. He was lovely. My sister killed him by stabbing him with a pencil... our relationship has deteriorated since this point!
In Australia as a kid we had to deal with these beauties

Personally I'd love a pet one of these

I never used to mind them... As a young child we kept some as pets
But nowadays, anything larger than a money spider is just horrific for me to look at.
A couple of years ago there was a spider terrorising the class during and English lesson. Most of the girls were squealing, but then one got out of her chair, walked up, grabbed the spider (not a tiny one, either!) and then threw it out of the first floor window... I guess that's one way to do it

i had one in my hair once and it dropped down infront of my eyes.

The biggest spiders we have around here are
wolf spiders
. They are big and freaky looking, but harmless to humans. I've heard that on the rare occasion that they do bite a person it just feels like a bee sting and itches for a few days.
Spiders don't bother me unless they are in my house. The get squashed if found indoors and left alone if found outside.

When it comes to spiders in the house I'm a trigger happy border guard...
Used to be terriffied of 'em then those massive house spiders started showing up about 8 years back. Dissposing of them was prefferable to having them running around plotting and spying (why else would they need so many eyes.....)
Anywho I've vanqushed so many now that they dont bother me. They still end up in a whisky glass, legs tucked in to fit, then onto the patio to be introduced to the flat side of my size 10's though.... keeps the birds happy, and in turn the cats when they come over to greet the feather brains

the bad thing is:giant house spiders can grow massive, but they are still common(exept in craig's house).
i mean:they can grow nearly the size of some tarantulas, but how common is it to find a tarantula?
and from what i heard tarantulas aren't agresive, those giant house bastards sometimes attack you at first sight!

That's the nice thing about wolf spiders, when they do come inside, they just ignore you.
I once killed a spider with a J-3 Cub. It hid in front of the tire, so I just rolled the airplane forward and "crunch". This is proof that airplanes are dangerous.

Eight eyes, eight legs with two knees each, able to walk in any direction upside down. Fangs. Spinnerets that spin the strongest material known to man. Shouldn't be no guilt showing them the door with all those assets.

Down in Aus, we practically sleep with spiders. They're fun to play with.
Its those venomous kangaroos that are the real problem here.

I remember when I had a 4 inch spider in my sister's room, It was so cool. I wanted to rescue it but my sis and grandma got to it first and killed it
!!! How sad.
But beetles are allot cooler that those Italian Audi thingies.

The only way a spider gets into my mouth is by force of will greater than my own; if I'm unconscious, the results could be worse than unpleasant for me and disastrous for the spider; the closest I know of is awakening to a bite near my lip (lower right side of my face); spiders are normally intelligent enough to try to avoid me inside but such attacks upon me have only added to their demise.
I am not accustomed to lyin' with the lion nor inserting my head in the beast whether it be awake, asleep or a rug. Neither do I want a piece of any live creature, no matter its size, in my mouth and have never intentionally swallowed a bug.

Try biting down on a tarantula, though. All spiders have Venom. That is how they break down their food. All spiders will bite you if they go into panic mode because we may have rolled over on them in our sleep or tied them inside a shoe.. or stick them in our mouths! Yuk!

Most tarantulas don't have venom poisonous enough to kill or have significant health effects on most medium sized to large mammals

On a whole, it is not about size shape, fangs, venom or the ability to be man eating or not (
). It is about a phobia. Some thing that at the end of the day is about as irrational as Ozzy dressing up in a sheep suit that has a basque and suspenders on and..........no scrub that, he could probably justify anything
A phobia comes in may forms from a whoooooooooo, no thank you to being physically sick. You leave my mother in a room with a tarantula or a money spider, as far as she is concerned, they are both man eating and she will decorate the whole room in vomit. My self, moths are my thing, or not as the case is. Does not matter how big or small it is, as far as I am concerned they are all the size of eagles and want to dive bomb me. Moth in the room, I will leave. Butterfly's, now they can land on my hand for a closer look. There is nothing to be pissed off at and no amount of education will dispel a phobia.

i actualy have a weird phobia:
jellyfish
i don't know why i am so scared of them because i never got stung, and i would like to keep it that way.
i don't like moths either but i am not realy afraid of them, depending on their size tough, small 1 cm ones are fine but anything larger is probably going to end up under a book.

Actually snakes kill the rodents that you despise so much. But seriously, Leave a snake alone and it will mind it's own business. If they do bite they most likely won't inject venom. And The venom biting cases are extreeeeeemely rare.
Rodents don't carry diseases it's actually a thing from black death and that was the fleas and the ticks that the rats were carrying. So it technically wasn't the rat's choice. And when we say it is rats that destroy ecosystems who brought them there in the first place?

But I have that habit too

My aphobia and the thing I'm scared of most, is nature itself. If It wanted us dead, We wouldn't survive a year before homo Sapiens are completely gone. And the worst thing is that it can do that without touching a single other species. Black death eg

Only a few days ago I clicked into a program where an officer was trying to describe how close a misidentified object had been to him: "If it had been a planet that close I would have been sunburned." He's
on
a planet (how close can you get?) and the planet, not being a nuclear ball, isn't causing a sunburn; I hate to smack him in the face, et al, but, if another planet gets 'that close', a sunburn is far from the immediate concern.

Quite agree... leave them alone in a deep pit in the Arctic or Antarctica... I do not outright hate them but I'm not particularly inclined towards having them, it being unintentionally, underfoot; the pit can be shared with an ample supply of all of the rodents transported from a hundreds-of-miles radius around me (except the bats, as long as they are intelligent enough not to abode about my dwelling or smack into me as I bicycle, as has been done).

Rodents don't carry diseases it's actually a thing from black death and that was the fleas and the ticks that the rats were carrying. So it technically wasn't the rat's choice.
It was, however, the rodent's choice to invade the human habitat and, ignorantly or not, they crawl into contact with all sorts of contaminants. They are also as capable as any other species (more so than some) to provide their own housing in the wild (even 'house' mice -- I've seen it).
This is not the first time rodents, mostly mice, have invaded my residence. I have personally warned mice that being inside in my presence foreboded their doom; that has been proven many times. Unfortunately, I did not perceive the crack in the storage container holding my phonographs prior to the hurricane (Irene; neither was it alone in flooding my entryway). A nest was made in the old Garand and mice like to cover their surroundings with personal 'fertilizer'. As hard and dry as it usually is, more than ample water transforms this fertilizer into a great murk. Add to that the fact that mice are cannibalistic, even mother mice when the nest is threatened, so guess what can happen when the water rises in a mouse-housing container -- the crack at the bottom now closed in by the aforementioned murk.

needn't remind me that it's a nasty old do-do. My BSR infrared autochanger has been heavily hosed and sprayed with a combination of disinfectant over a period of many days; it will be much, much, much longer in the drying out period before another spraying of disinfectant finally enables closer inspection and testing; no guarantees.
Pertaining to a recent report on the descendant strain of the Black Death, if I recall correctly, it still kills a couple thousand people per year. Weed it and reap.

From the movie 'Goodfellas'...
You said, "I'm all right, Spider."
Am I on a pay-no-mind list?
No, I heard someone
say "Spider, Spider."
- I thought it was Henry.
- You're a stuttering f***.

@H...I fear that if you delay on opening the aforementioned crack, you may well explode!
