Goodly morning all... Smiley

Still got some Tweaking to do, still have problems getting an Amphibian Aircraft off water as the wheels are down when it loads, here is some shots of my first Payware Aircraft...

FSX and Windows 7
HDE Clouds
3D Lights
FS Water Configurator set to Steve's Favourite Settings
Aircraft:  Payware Aerosoft DHC-2 Beaver
Location:  Lake St. John...Orillia...Ontario...Canada
Lake St. John is one of the add on Water Aerodromes and Airports which are Freeware from the "Home of Flight Ontario"
Season is Fall and early morning...
Mostly all Freeware right here at Simviation... Wink

Click on Picture for a better view... Wink

Downwind and into the Sunrise...
...

Rolling in onto Final Approach to Water Runway...
...

Keeping her a little high to check for FOD on or below water...floats can be damaged very easily...
http://www.fodnews.com/
...

Letting her settle on her own...
...

Depending on Settings there is lots to see, A1 traffic, docks, fuel pumps, vehicles etc...
...

DHC-2 Beaver Cockpit...interesting as oil could be added to the Beaver's engine while in flight through that yellow cap near the floor.  Excellent feature for those long flights as the Beaver also had Wing Fuel Tanks along with the Belly Fuel Tank...
...

Comments and Advice most welcome... Smiley

Very nice Doug. Smiley

I moved it to payware since you are showcasing a payware aircraft. How do you like it so far?

OOP's...do I have to go stand in the corner of me wee little barn in the underground garage for posting in the wrong area Larry?.... Grin

So far the aircraft is not bad but I sure would like to be able to take the Amphibian Beaver off from the water instead of the land strips.

The float Beavers work fine on the water, it is just the Amphibian Beavers that sit on the water with their wheels down... Roll Eyes

There must be something I am missing or need to do.   Undecided

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Im unsure on your problem, but could you not start on land with the wheels down, take off, wheels up, then land on water. Save the flight, then you should start from there whenever you want? Or use slew and do the same thing?

Thanks Chuck much appreciated... Wink

Thanks Larry, think I will do the Tweaks Dave sent me and see if that clears up the problem.
Maybe, and perhaps I am thinking out of the box, but perhaps my Payware Beaver does not like FSX Addons and prefers the normal program...not sure.

Thanks "todayshorse" that is what I am doing now unless I just fly the Float version.

Amphibian Beavers.  hit the gear key and raise your wheels, when you are in the water, and take off using the floats.   i have the Aerosoft DHC2 Beaver as well, and I have absolutely no problems taking off from land, or water.

Thanks but I have been using the Joystick programed button but the gear still will not raise, the Amphibian just sits there on top of the water... Smiley

I'm wondering if the gear gets damaged when the amphibian loads at a water base which prevents it retracting. You could try disabling Crashes & Damage from Realism settings to see if that fixes it.

Which water base are you using? Have you tried it at a default water runway like Evers? This is my test base for all floatplanes/seaplanes. I quickly tried it with the FSX default Goose & the gear was retracted when the sim loaded.

Hi Doug... Smiley

Started the Payware Beaver off on the water at Evers "United States...NY State I think" and low and behold she loaded with the gear retracted on the water... Smiley

Now I am wondering why it does not do that with the Home of Flight Ontario Freeware Scenery like Orillia "Lake St. John"?

I have had no problems with any of their scenery until I went Payware....HMMMM.... Roll Eyes      Grin

Thanks Doug for giving me the location to check this out... Wink

Hi Doug. At least that gives us something to go on. I don't think it's confined to payware & a freeware amphibian would probably have the same problem. It seems to me that your Flight Ontario water base is missing whatever it is in the default scenery that defines it as a water runway. I'm no scenery designer so I have no idea how to fix it.

PS. Have you got Ultimate Terrain installed?
