If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Nice shots and pun in the title Grin  I'll always have a sweet spot for this plane because of the movie "Flight of the Intruder" when I was a kid.

How do you like the flight model?

Whats that on the 'radar' screen?????

Funny to think just how old this aircraft actually is....i did a huge pencil drawing for my art exam of a in-cockpit view from an intruder as it came in to land on a carrier......my Art teacher was quite baffled but i thought it was great! Took me ages doing all the gauges and stuff!! And that was years ago.....

Nice shots btw Wink

Thanks. That movie is why I've wanted it for so long.  Grin

Yes, so far I really like it. But I only flew it a short while and have yet to read the manual.

I have no idea what is on the radar.  Grin

Do you still have the drawing? I'd love to see it. Smiley

That's Moffett Federal, KNUQ, near the south end of San Francisco Bay, northwest of San Jose.

Sadly not, its probably still pinned to the art class wall!!! However it was from a photo so if i come across the photo.....

My art teacher certainly didnt understand my fascination with aircraft, we had to do four or five different things for the exam, one was the intruder, i did a water colour of a spitfire which i thought was rather good considering i cant really paint, a three stage drawing of what happened to that PSA 727 over San Diego in the 1970's when it collided with a cessna or somthing similar (morbid i know but at the time it intrigued me very much) and somthing else of a trislander taking off from somewhere.........yes im mad! It's a tactical attitude display (I think it was called that).  Sort of like an early synthetic vision display except instead of using actual optics I think it displayed the terrain like an old school atari game probably from radar Grin. Made it easier to fly nap of the earth.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Cool Cool Cool

I got the Prowler...........but after seeing these, I think I'll go back and get the Intruder too Smiley

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"
