Yeah they make me think of a time when being a pilot was an adventure and flying was done by the seat of your pants.

Yeah.  Even though I probably wasn't born then, I think I've done enough seat of my pants ones in 747-400's, 737-400's, F-14's , FA-18's, and 206B's, C208's, and C172's to know those were DEFINATELY the good days of flying.
i can just never get tired of taking that good ol' FS9 Landmark 747-400 down in the Grand Canyon and takin' her as far as I can before she runs out of fuel, use my momentum to pull up, and land smoothly on the nice flat desert.

That sounds scary. I flew the goose down the Grand Canyon on my world tour and that was hard enough! Can't imagine what it's like in a 747.

Another thing I like about the goose is I imagine you could fix it your self if it broke and it would still run even if it's taken a good beating, a bit like an old Willy's jeep or a original land rover.
Not something you could do in a F-18 I'm sure, as wonderful as they are!

Actually, with the right amount of control and predicting and a good joystick, It's actually not too difficult.
And yes, you probably could.  I imagine that from it's era it couldn't be that extremely complex mechanically.

The shot looks awesome. Surprised that the navy didn't intercept the goose

Just use trim. If you know how You can turn an a380 into a cessna 172 Grin Grin Grin. It's so realistic Roll Eyes

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

In real life, you would have been shot down.  Or thrown into jail for a long, long time to be made an example of.

Great plane though.

ho ho ho. If you use the rudder, aileron and elevator trim fast enough, You'll be pulling some serious g's Grin Grin.

And I was looking at your photo admiring the goose and the ocean e.t.c, I noticed the rain was going down straight. Fsx usually moves it even when moving at 30 knots. Even the rain pauses in silence for the pure awesomeness of the goose Grin Grin Cheesy

It's a simple little trick. Pause the sim with the aircraft where you want it. Then set the weather to rain. The rain appears with the plane still paused so there's no motion blur. Easy straight rain!
