Carrier testing in the F/A-18E Super Hornet Test Bird

Ready to launch.
...

BOOM what a ride.
...

Giving the guys on deck a high speed pass.
...

Alright I guess play time is over.
...

Meanwhile across a few ponds, the hunt comes to an end.
...

And I didn't even loose a tail this time!
...

Did you put the main folder from the zip file in the Addon/Scenery folder?  Don't take the scenery/texture folders out and put them in those respective addon folders themselves, they stay with the main folder.

Then after you add it to the library it actually comes up as an airport where you start out in one of the courtyards.

I don't know what I did wrong LOL! Grin But I must have not added it correctly, I'll have to try again, 2nd I downloaded this RAAF F/A 18 today you picture above and it run perfect but just not all the fancy paints jobs like my Boeing F/A 18 with those cockpit view issues, I notice they both use the same cockpits set ups, what the chance of me sliding the cockpit from this F/A 18 into the Boeing? Is that possible? Huh

This one I have shots of is the payware VRS Superbug so it's completely different from the Acceleration Hornet and the RAAF F/A 18...I'm not sure how the virtual cockpits work, but I would imagine it could be done if the creators gave permission to modify their files.

Wow!  Amazing Shots!  You really got some good ones!  It's amazing that with this level of qaulity you got so many images and didn't go over the limit!

By the way, I noticed in the one of buzzing the guys on deck that the elevator was down.  How did you get it to go down and up and all that?

You wouldn't beleive what happened in my carrier training.  I actually was still trying to figure out how the heck you fly those things at the same time.  Amazingly, I never crashed into the water or back of the ship, but did have a pretty embarrasing mess up. Embarrassed Tongue
But thankfully, I caught on fast after that.  In one round of training, my catch rate went from about 33% to 50% and my crash rate from 100% to 0% per round. Smiley

And you have no idea how glad I am they uploaded the compound scenery.  If you're wondering why, well....  Let's just say I had some fun on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 after seeing some particular videos in the general section. Roll Eyes Cool Roll Eyes Smiley
Osama got more than just killed in my FS. Smiley

Thanks!

It's Javiers Nimitz, if you wait long enough the elevator goes down and back up automatically (might be on certain ones though e.g. Nimitiz and group vs alone).  I tried to ride it down one time and you "hit" bottom at a certain point and it counts as a crash. Grin At least for me it did.

Carrier ops is really fun and challenging!

As for the last two, I just wish I could get out of the helo and it turn into a FPS for the compound.  Wink

Oh well, screw it, I took a look at the files and it just looks like it's gonna be ah bigger hassle to even try, so I'll deal with not being able to view the gauges in this other F/A 18 but I sure love the paint jobs on them, shame the other one that has the good cockpit are so plain looking, I love the different squadrons tail paint jobs Huh

Do you have Acceleration?  There are a ton of repaints available for the Acceleration legacy Hornet.  If you look at some of my other posts from early on I have different pictures of some of them.

My joysiticks working again
!!!! Smiley Grin Smiley

I had to reset it to factory default settings, but it's working again!  It took me a few times to 'get back in the groove' of carrier flying and flying the FA-18 since I haven't played FS in the past month or so, and I didn't do too many flights in it before my joystick had broken, but I'm starting to get back in the hang of it. Smiley
Hold on boys, time to hook the wire, Club508 style! Cheesy Cheesy
(in other words, come in low and fast from about 2 nm and keep steady and descend the final 5-10 feet right when you cross the end of the deck to catch the wire) Wink

No I don't have Acceleration mfaulisi but guess what, another person told me to zoom the cameras all the back then hit & hold "ctrl" & "enter" together and the camera will suck you back in the seat so you can see the gauges and I'll be damned, it worked! Roll Eyes Matter fact when you use this view, when you accelerate you get sucked back in the seat even more and when you slow down you lurch forward in the seat! Cheesy I'm in heaven, these views with you being tossed around in the seat are awesome!!! Cool

Cool shots.....I like #2 Cool Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Personally, I find all that stuff too annoying trying to look over and find the runway and all the moving.  I actually prefer the non moving 2D panel becuase, like I said, it doesn't move, and also because of the fact you can see just the VERY important guages, or just minimize it completely with one button press.  Although I will admit, I do prefer the 3D for joyrides instead of actual flights.
