I downloaded the new WTC 1 file....how do I install it?  I mean, where do the contents of the \1WTC\scenery folder go?   Embarrassed

I assume you talking about this?

If so...
Copy the "1WTC" folder itself into the "Add-on Scenery" folder located in FSX Root (Program Files / Microsoft Games / Microsoft Flight Simulator X).

Start up FSX and go to the Setting menu, then go to the "Scenery Library" (located on the right side).  On the menu that pops up, click "Add New Scenery", then the "Add-on Scenery" folder, and finally, highlight (click once) the "1WTC" folder and click OPEN.

Click OK to load the scenery and exit out of the Scenery Liberty menu; the scenery should now be loaded. Smiley

No, actually, I was referring to this one.  But, I assume the instructions would be the same.

Well, I can't get that one to install.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

PS -- I don't have "Add Scenery"  I have --

Did all that....can't add the folder....it just opens up to the "scenery" and "texture" folders.  I can't find "Add"....there's "Add Area", but no "Add."  I'm thoroughly confused.

Do you mean you can't copy and past it into the Add-on Scenery folder? Huh

"Add" and "Add Area" are the same thing. Smiley

You click on the "add area" Then open "Addon Scenery folder, find the scenery you wnat to add, click "OK".  Now, if you are using Windoz7, click anywhere in the open folder window, below the scenery/texture folders, then that window should close, then click the "Okay" button, and your scenery should load.

The step where you click under the scenery/texture folder (if it has a texture folder-- not all addon sceneries to), is a Win7 bug.

Thanks, everybody....finally figured it out.  Now, the next big question is finding WTC1 when I'm flying.  (Is there an airport you can take off from that will point you, more or less, in the direction of WTC1?  (I'm from Iowa....don't know *jack* about NYC.)   Embarrassed

It's on the southern tip of Manhatten. Take off from KJFK, runway 31L,on a heading of 310.  You should be able to spot it before you corss over the East River.  If you use an amphib, you can take off from N Y Skyports International, and turn to a heading of about 200.

P.S., when in doubt, you can use Google Maps.
