Hey guys. I just feel that I should inform you guys on why I haven't really been up to date on my picture posting. Well, as the title says, I'm a sophmore. School is back in session and the vacation is over! The good thing about it though, is I now have much more privileges. The thought of having more freedoms is very motivating & relaxing. 10th grade isn't very hard, it's actually somewhat fun, but there's a heck of a lot of work! Grin Luckily I've been squeezing in as much flying(simulator time, I don't start real life lessons until next summer) time as possible when I don't have homework or have finished it. But hey, things could be worse, thank god we don't have homework assigned throughout weekends! Boy, college must be intimidating/interesting. That is all! Have an awesome night/day. It's almost friday!! Woohoo! Cheesy Grin  Cool

College depends on your major.  My senior year I probably spent 12 hours or more a day working on design.  And yes, that includes weekends.  Pretty much went from 8 AM to midnight every weekday, then whatever-time-I-woke-up to mid to late afternoon saturdays and sundays.  High school was a joke to me, I don't even remember doing homework (I know I did).

And now real work?  7:30 to 4 every day, no 'homework' or overtime (yet).  Loving it Cool

I've seen diagrams and charts and I am still at a complete loss as to what college in the USA actually does!

In the UK we finish high school at age 16 and complete college by age 18 on most courses. Though I know some people who stay on for longer and finish at 20-21. At the moment I am an 'upper highest' sixth former... I am in my 3rd year of college (a sixth form is where the college is a part of your high school building) so I am the boss of all the kids now  Grin

When I went through the school thing in the US, high school grads had to finish grade 12 which would date you at age 17 or 18 depending on your birthdate. One of my brothers couldn't start 1st grade because his birth date was in January. I attended junior college after high school in prep for university. And yea, they have same Euro setup in Canada by naming high schools as collegiate institutes.

When I left School in 1950, we were thrown out at the age of 16 to find a job in the real World....
I took on a 6 year apprenticeship as an Electrical Engineer, which included one day per week at a nearby Tech College (followed by a two year conscription in the British Army R.E.M.E), a job which lasted until I retired in 1984.

There was no further Schooling after the age of 16.
Many of my school friends became experienced Tradesmen immediately after they left School.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity. The 1st grade teacher was the school principle with the school's main file cabinet. My mom told her I was still younger than the others (entering 1st) but she hadn't started me in kindergarten because we didn't have the means of transportation (had vehicles but Dad was at work and Mom had no license until they later divorced) and no bus was available until 1st grade. The principle arranged to put me in kindergarten during its operating hours and I was in her 1st grade room (doing 1st-grade work that counted for nought) until it let out and the bus took us home. Every morning, before starting classes, the principle brought out an artificial cake and asked if it was anyone's birthdate; I raised my hand on the ides of November -- but she had the cake put away while she told me to put my hand down, "...it's not your birthday!"
"Yes it is!"
We reiterated the exchange a couple of times until she felt obliged to retrieve the paperwork from the file cabinet and actually read what my mom had entered on the lines, then, with reddened face, "I'm sorry... ...it is your birthday."
However, to cover an unwarranted course of action, the cake was not retrieved and my birthdate was not officially acknowledged...
Now you know the reason for any of my inane actions...
I'm just acting my (last official) age.
