He's alive? It's not a dalek taking over, is it?
Everything looks good... Although I am not a huge fan of the English mustard.
Good to see you again!

Nope, Mach...
I gently fry Daleks, together with Garlic and chopped Onions, and add to a medium hot Balti sauce, and serve with Pilau Rice and Nan Bread...
A nice Supper Dish!
Yummy!

Ok, clue me in, what is different about "English" mustard? Is it similar to Grey Poupon?

... but you've evidently kept your head above water. You've obviously decided to do more than just lurk about... and, yes, I discovered you no longer had the "ex" tag when I was searching out my BoB (Battle of Bennington) posts from five years ago.
Of course, the first thing you do is make me hungry when I've little food on hand and don't like the thought of bicycling two miles in the sporadic rain. I think you took a sim flight over me just to check out the weather and purposely annoy me.

I think everyone assumes that French's Mustard is 'the' mustard. English mustard is an acquired taste. I used some whilst making beef wellington the other day, and it was just horrific
It's probably the British version of Wasabi, only yellow

"English Mustard" is a VERY HOT variety.!
It can be purchased in powder form (in a tin) and when mixed with plain water is very hot. Mixed with Milk it is milder tasting....similar to French Mustard....

Made it across the lake and all the way up the loooong hill with but a sprinkling; wrapped my raincoat over the seat.
The rain was coming down much harder when I came back out. Put on the raincoat and filled my backpack with my food supplies; put on the backpack, mounted the bicycle, turned on its lamps and took off into the
wild
wet gray (good thing I'm not in the U.K. -- the poor "e" is overworked). Now, the faster one pedals in the rain, the greater is the facial power wash. The raincoat kept my torso dry but dripped more water onto my pants which were benig smacked into the rain along with my shoes...
Mr. Fosbery, my legs and feet got soaked!
Anyway, although it may not compare to yours, I just made myself some hot chicken vegetable soup (chicken, peas, corn, minced carrot and onion; seasoned with spices, including black and cayenne pepper) which I'm having with some vegetable crackers (a bit salty but OK). Actually, it's more like a stew; I don't like it sloppy so I thicken it with instant potato (I have it specifically for this purpose when I want something quick -- don't like corn starch).
As to your 'English' mustard. There was a time I used get canned ground mustard and just added water; canned mustard is a bit expensive now. Mentioning the designation 'English', this post and somebody's response to my original BoB posts brings it to mind: I don't remember who or when for sure, but someone mentioned that English muffins weren't English. Actually they did originate with the English, except that the English who first made them weren't in England -- they were English colonists who, often, had pans but no oven. Just thought I'd throw that in while I thought of it.

I really do sympathise with your enforced predicament, and although I could prepare a tasty meal for you, unfortunately, I have no control whatsoever over your local weather conditions....

I had the choice of outdated (only per shelf date) English muffins and crumpets last week ($1.50 for 12 muffins, $1.50 for 8 crumpets) at the Shaw's market I went to yesterday evening (EST) so I've had both. The texture is more refined in the crumpet (undoubtedly less leavening) and, thus, there's a slightly more 'soda' taste in the thicker, but somewhat smaller diametered, English muffin. However, unless one lets either type cool right after toasting, both types are finger burners.

Much more sustenance in those meat Sausages than there is in prickly Cacti for a budding vegetarian Train Driver during those long hot railway journey's across the Australian Outback.

Paul was deported for a reason... he was caught wearing those tartan slippers and talking about how nice Horlicks was. He has now redeemed himself by drinking 12 pints of gin and kicking a banananananana to death with hobnail boots
