I've just downloaded and installed (through it's .exe installer) the Westland Seaking by 'UKMIL' and for some reason the damned thing wont go, the sim starts up with the Seaking sitting on the runway and the engine is shutting down. Once it's shut down there doesn't seem to be anyway of getting it going again, the throttle control seems to be working in reverse and none of the controls on any of the panels are 'switchable'. Has anyone got any ideas on these problems please?

I'll try it. I've experienced this a few times in the past. There is a simple solution ... but let me test it when I can .....

OK I have just loaded it. Installed it. And can fly it no problem. Throttle control is not reversed. ('Throttle' - in helicopters the 'engine speed' is generally governed and the FS version 'throttle' is the 'Collective' control - which is the 'up and down' (lift) control)
What is your default flight when you start FSX?

Hi Pete, when I first start up FSX the flight that's showing in 'free flight' is Friday Harbour with an Air Creation Trike.
I've inatalled quite a lot of helecopters over the past couple of days and all except this Seaking are working spot on.
Thanks....Jon T.

Are you using the basic FSX, or have you added FSX SP1 and SP2 (or FSX Acceleration)?

I've installed service pack 1 and 2 and I'm using the latest FSUIPC.

I don't know if the FSUIPC has anything to do with it. I downloaded and installed the Seaking and it worked for me, too.

I seem to recall it has something to do with engine revs being sufficient before playing with the collective or the engine shuts down. Had loads of trouble with this back in FS2k2

Thanks Ozzy, I'll try loading it in with the throttle open and see if it makes any difference.
